AREA SUMMER VOLLEYBALL CAMPS
The top players in the region generally attend at least one summer volleyball camp. A number of the top college and high school coaches in the area run week-long camps during the summer. Some camps are geared towards specific positions such as setting, hitting, and defense while others are for player's overall development.
- Dearing Volleyball School - July 10-13, 2010 & July 14-16, 2011
Now in its' 27th year, the Dearing Volleyball School at Springfield College offers two distinct camp sessions. Session 1 is a traditional style camp with focus on skill development and some specialized training opportunities by session and opportunities to play “hometown team games.” Session 2 will allow campers to select a training program designed by position (for example: setter, left side hitter, middle hitter, libero, etc). Campers will receive specific skill instruction through a variety of instructional techniques including repetition work, combination drills, and 6 vs 6 training sessions. Visit the official Dearing Volleyball School Website for more information.
- Junior Lancer Volleyball Camp - August 1-3, 2011
This 3-day camp at Longmeadow High School is for girls and boys entering grades 5-9. Players of all levels and positions are encouraged to attend!
